In laptops, display modules, camera equipment, and other slim electronic products, high-speed signal interfaces are increasing, while the internal installation space is becoming more limited. Traditional wiring harnesses face higher requirements in terms of size, wiring density, and signal integrity. The I-PEX CABLINE®-UA II uses a 0.3mm pin spacing and a Vertical Right Angle structure, supporting 26/32/40/50PIN, and supporting AWG42, AWG44, and AWG46 Micro-Coaxial Cable. The reference transmission capability given by the I-PEX official materials reaches 5Gbps/lane NRZ, and it has been optimized for miniaturization and multi-point grounding to resist EMI. This time, the corresponding ultra-thin coaxial cable product material number is I-PEX 83039-100B-01-D, using a 40PIN, 300mm length, AWG#44 50Ω Micro-Coaxial Cable, and a 1-1 wiring structure; the connector model used at the wire end is 20497-040T-30, with a connector PIN count of 40PIN and a connector spacing of 0.3mm. For engineers, this combination of "0.3mm Pitch + 40PIN + ultra-thin coaxial cable" can achieve higher-density independent signal channel wiring in limited space.

The compatibility of extremely thin coaxial cables with high-speed protocols is not primarily about "the thinner the line, the higher the speed," but rather the impedance control, insertion loss, return loss, crosstalk, shielding, and termination consistency of the entire high-speed link. USB4® itself supports multiple data and display protocols to share high-speed links, and USB-IF's current specification system also includes corresponding electrical tests and interoperability tests, therefore, high-speed cables need to be verified from the perspective of the system link. For 83039-100B-01-D, the drawings clearly specify the use of AWG#44, 50Ω Micro-Coax, which independent coaxial structure can provide a relatively clear transmission path and shielding structure for high-speed signals; however, it should be noted that the 5Gbps/lane listed on the I-PEX CABLINE®-UA II page is the reference transmission capability of the connector series and cannot be directly equated to the fact that this cable assembly has passed the complete USB4® certification. Therefore, if the project goal is USB4®, high-speed display, or other higher-speed protocols, the engineering side should still combine specific line length, cable structure, connectors, PCB routing, and system topology for SI verification, while the procurement side should confirm whether the supplier can provide the corresponding impedance, loss, and high-speed test data.

From the specific drawings, 83039-100B-01-D is a CABLINE®-UA II ultra-thin coaxial cable assembly with a 40P, 1-1 structure. The total length is 300.0±5.0mm, using AWG#44, 50Ω, blue Micro-Coaxial Cable, with related Plug components at both ends. The cable assembly is fixed with UV glue and black acetate tape; the drawings also specify a withstand voltage of AC100V, maximum leakage current of 2.0mA, insulation resistance of at least 50MΩ under DC100V, and a Harness working temperature limit of 80°C. For engineers carrying out domestic compatibility and replacement, it is not enough to only check the "40PIN" item; it is also necessary to simultaneously confirm the 20497-040T-30 connector, 0.3mm pitch, AWG44 wire, 50Ω impedance, 300mm length, 1-1 Pin Assignment, and end structure dimensions; for purchasing personnel, it should further confirm sample recognition, size consistency, batch delivery capability, and high-speed signal testing capability. Our company can provide: I-PEX 83039-100B-01-D compatible replacement cable assembly solutions, which can be matched and developed according to the customer's original cable assembly drawings, physical objects, and application requirements, for connectors, PIN numbers, wire specifications, length, and termination structure.

If the original project design uses the CABLINE®-UA II 40PIN scheme, it is recommended to prioritize confirmation in the order of "Connector Series→PIN Number→Pitch→Cable AWG→Impedance→Length→Pin Assignment→Terminal Structure→Electrical Performance→High-Speed SI Test". For 83039-100B-01-D, the key matching relationship can be summarized as: CABLINE®-UA II + 20497-040T-30 + 40PIN + 0.3mm Pitch + AWG#44 + 50Ω + 300mm + 1-1. If the application is only for general high-speed signal connection, it is recommended to focus on verifying conductivity, insulation, voltage resistance, impedance, and structural dimensions; if used for USB4® or other high-speed protocols, it is suggested to add verification of insertion loss, return loss, crosstalk, differential impedance, and channel budget, and not to rely solely on the connector model to judge whether the entire cable meets the target protocol. USB-IF also currently provides the USB4® electrical test and interoperability test system, so for projects that explicitly require USB4® compliance, the actual test results and corresponding certification requirements should be used as the final judgment basis.
